Hamro Ekiden
Half Marathon Relay for over 24 hours
Hamro Ekiden is inspired by Japan’s iconic Hakone Ekiden, one of Japan’s most famous long-distance relay races, held every year.
Hamro Ekiden is our annual fundraising campaign created to support our chosen charity in fulfilling its mission and values.
This campaign takes the form of over 24 hour Half Marathon Relay Run and Volunteering a true test of endurance, teamwork, and spirit.
Each runner completes a Half Marathon before passing on the tasuki - a sash worn across the chest- to the next teammate.

How does it work?
From 9:00 AM on Saturday through to Sunday afternoon, runners will take to the course in pairs or small groups, each team completing a half marathon distance (21km) before passing on the challenge.
Day and night, the momentum will continue without pause, demonstrating our shared commitment and resilience.
At the end of every leg, a ceremonial sash-style baton will be handed over to the next team, a powerful symbol of unity, continuity, and collective purpose.
Join the movement
Be part of something bigger than a race.
Hamro Ekiden is more than miles and medals, it’s about community, resilience, and collective purpose. From sunrise to sunset and through the night, every step taken carries our shared mission forward.
Whether you run, volunteer, donate, or cheer from the sidelines, you are part of the movement.
Together, we don’t just pass the sash, we pass on hope, strength, and unity.
Step forward. Take your place.
